R&D Memo #004 | June 24, 2003 | 153 Subscribers
Greetings
Fellow Facilitators!
Seeking
input for next guide.
We appreciate your great inputs
to our "Intervene With Confidence" Facilitator Guide
requested a couple of weeks ago. This guide is progressing,
although a little slower than planned, and we will get free
copies out to those who contributed when it is complete.
Our next facilitator guide will focus on Conflict Resolution.
This guide will explore skills and techniques proven
useful in the resolution of conflict in groups.
To refresh your memory, the Facilitator
Guides will be rich sources of information and practical advice
and startegies that can be applied to special situations that
facilitators encounter in their day-to-day work. For example,
future guides will involve, building trust, building team,
starting and ending groups, handling conflict, virtual facilitation,
etc...
Please
help us with our next guide by answering the questions below.
Those of you who contribute material that we end up using
in the guide, will receive a free copy of the finished guide.
Also, see our special teleclass offer to R&D team members
at the end of this memo.
Here's what
we need to know:
- What
is your best “survival” tip(s) used to resolve conflict and
manage emotionally difficult situations?
- What dialogue techniques have you used to reframe confrontational
situations into positive and productive conversations?
- Identify causal/behavior dynamics from your experiences
that place individuals or groups “at risk” for conflict.
- Can you identify a “cost” associated with the conflicts
you observed?
- What behaviors have you observed that contribute to the
escalation of individual and/or group conflicts?
- What is your favorite tool(s) for promoting respect, cooperation
and successful communication?
- What story would you share with us from actual practice
to best illustrate the technique(s) you have indicated?
Special
Teleclass Offer to R&D Members
Our recent teleclass on "Full Participation"
met with such success and interest, we've decided to offer
it again this Thursday and are offering a 50% discount to
our R&D team members. A second option offered includes
the new Facilitator Guide on Full Participation with the teleclass.
We are discounting this option 50% for you as well. If you're
interesting in attending, please click the link below to see
further details on the class and please note that your discount
will be computed after you select your purchase option and
click "CheckOut" in the shopping cart.

A Note on Pricing. Though
we would like to be able to offer these teleclasses to our
contributing R&D members for free, we find that free classes
attract lots of registrants who do not attend. Since our bridge
space is limited, we are charging a much lower fee to you
for the class to minimize empty teleclass slots and to cover
our processing costs. We hope you understand.
Thanks very much for your support!
Warmest regards,
Steve
